It’s the sort of thing Street Fighter V never received and will draw in those of us who want a fully rounded experience and not one only made for the hardcore fighting game community.Īs someone who has spent a ton of time over the years in great single player fighting game modes ( Soul Calibur’s Mission Battle Mode may be my all time favorite), this has me ready to go. This single player immersive, story based mode, looks to bring Street Fighter into an open world with a major single player component. For me though, World Tour has me extremely excited. It looks cool, better than just waiting for random matches to start. Battle Hub looks to be an online mode made to provide an immersive experience. The real highlights of today’s trailer though were the reveals of World Tour and Battle Hub. The classics like arcade mode, training mode, versus mode, and online play will all be available on day one. Street Fighter 6 looks to be starting things off on the right foot. Capcom eventually added a lot more content, making the game far more feature rich, but it never quite got where fans would have liked it to be.
Street Fighter 5 played fine even at launch, but a stunning lack of content left fans who weren’t going to spend hundreds of hours playing online against players they can’t beat, something I have no interest in myself, feeling left out in the cold. The new trailer for Street Fighter 6, revealed during today’s State of Play presentation, does more to tell me this game is for me than Street Fighter 5 managed during its entire lifespan.
